You'll meet your private guide outside your Alesund cruise ship port. Your adventure with a drive through one of several subsea tunnels constructed to connect the islands dotting the surrounding Alesund area. On Giske Island, you will visit the only marble church in Norway - Giske Church. Built in the 12th century for one of the wealthiest noble families, it has a rich history and a beautiful symbolic interior crafted locally. Bring your camera for this 10-15 minute photo opportunity.
At the island of Valderoy, you will have a comfortable break to use the facilities and snap a few photos of the surrounding scenery before continuing on your voyage.
As you continue, your drive will take you to the northernmost and second largest of the islands – Ellingsoy. You'll make a quick stop for coffee and local treats by the two old Skodje Bridges. These are arch bridges and one is the longest masonry arch road bridge in Norway. Your stop will be approximately 20-30 minutes.
The next portion takes you along roads past picturesque fjords to Moa, the modern business center of Alesund to Nervoy Island. You'll stop at Aksla Viewpoint where you'll get amazing views of the archipelago, the interesting town center, and the majestic Sunnmøre Alps. The island of Hessa is next for a quick photo stop and then finish the island hop at Aspoy. Your adventure ends with a walk around the old city center in Alesund, a port town on the west coast. Most of the town was rebuilt in the Art Nouveau style after a devasting fire in 1904. Take some memorable photos on Skateflukaia street, wander through the charming streets at Kongens Gate ( with the narrowest house in town ), into St. Olavplass Kipervikstorget Marketplace (the town park), and much more.
