You'll meet your Curacao National Park excursion guide outside of your Curacao cruise ship port and be given safety instructions and a briefing about your fun-filled day. The adventure starts when your driver assists you and the small group aboard the back of the Land Cruiser for some off-road driving. There is nothing extreme on this excursion though. Your guide/driver will just get you to some amazing vantage points and locations not accessible from a normal road!
Your exclusive Curacao Land Cruiser and National Park shore excursion will let you visit the famous "Orchid Route" located at some of the highest viewing points on the island. At your first stop on the south shore, you'll learn the geological history of the island. You'll visit the oldest plantation house and former salt mine at Plantation Jan Kok and see Ascension Plantations' colonial house built on a former Indian village. You may also see some flamingos while you learn about the history and the nature of Curacao.
As you continue along the north shore to Boca Patricks, you'll see the fascinating geology of bays and blowholes (natural fountains). Have your camera ready for some excellent photos at the stops along the way. As you head to lunch on the main highway you'll do some more off-road sightseeing. Your lunch stop would be at E Lanternu restaurant, a 5-star Trip Advisor-rated spot, where you can purchase a delicious lunch. You'll have approximately 60 minutes to rest, refresh, and fill up.
Then you'll continue your Curacao sightseeing excursion on the way to the main park entrance. Christoffel National Park has a rich history with sites dating from the time of the slave trade with its huge slave plantations. You will see the rich variety of local flora and fauna. Your guide would walk you around the Landhouse Zorgvlied ruins with panoramic views and photo opportunities. On your off-road drive around the park, you'll see orchids, birds of prey, and often deer. Your sightseeing shore excursion drive will take you through stunning views of the island and ocean often reaching more than 1000 feet above sea level.
Your sightseeing excursion continues on the way back to your Curacao cruise ship terminal.
